Trauma-informed
Expressive Arts Therapy
for Sensitive Creatives who are Stuck
In-person in Berkeley and virtually across California.

You’re going through the motions—day after day—without joy, without a sense of purpose. You feel disconnected from your creativity, from yourself, and from meaningful relationships.

Reaching out to friends and even responding to texts feels impossible because of shame from early experiences of rejection or bullying. Relationships with partners, friends, and family members are exhausting. You often put others’ needs before your own. You struggle with self-doubtAs a child, your caregivers may have been overwhelmed or unavailable for you. You learned to make yourself small. To stay quiet. To adapt.

You can't seem to find the motivation for creative practices. All of your energy is spent at work, which does satisfy a subconscious drive for self-worth, but doesn't fill your cup or make you truly happy. Besides over-working, you spend your time just coping, escaping, and self-medicating.

After years of these patterns, the pandemic, the Trumpocalypse, and systems of oppression, your nervous system is overwhelmed. You feel stuck. The things that brought you joy-creative expression, community, connection-now feel out of reach.

You don’t have to stay stuck

I am Rosina Roibal, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), based in Berkeley, CA. I can help you gently untangle from what is keeping you stuck through:

  • Creating a sense of safety through our relationship and practicing tools to regulate the nervous system

  • Creativity and expressive arts

  • Somatics/body wisdom

  • Mindfulness and radical acceptance

  • Exploring thoughts and behaviors, identifying internalized beliefs that aren't serving you

  • Understanding the roots of your challenges

  • Healing "parts" or versions of yourself, such as your inner wounded child

  • Motivating you to change

  • Collaborating on strategies

In therapy jargon: My approach is client-centered, directive, strength-based, attachment-based, trauma-informed, systemic, experiential, solution-focused, and psychodynamic. I use narrative therapy, mindfulness, somatics, expressive arts, parts work, EMDR, CBT, and liberation psychology.
I am client-centered, therapist-led. And, I lead with love.
