Therapy for teens and transition-aged youth

Adolescence and the transition to adulthood can be overwhelming. Teens and youth today are navigating more than ever before. Therapy provides a safe, confidential space where youth can express themselves openly, feel understood, and build tools to manage life with confidence.

Some of the struggles I support youth with include:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Academic and school challenges

  • Social struggles or bullying

  • Family conflict

  • Body shame and low self-esteem

  • Substance abuse and addiction (including video games and social media)

  • Burnout and fear of "launching" into adulthood

  • Life transitions

  • Trauma

How Teen Therapy Works

Individual Sessions

I provide a supportive, confidential, nonjudgmental, culturally sensitive space where teens can explore their experiences, learn tools to navigate challenges, practice healthy forms of expression, and have their identity and voice respected and celebrated. I tailor therapy to your teen using developmentally appropriate talk, expressive arts, somatics/body, mindfulness, CBT, teaching emotional regulation, and EMDR...meeting them where they are at.

Parent Collaboration

Parents are an important part of the process. While your teen’s privacy is respected, we work collaboratively to:

  • Share general progress

  • Improve family communication

  • Develop supportive strategies at home
